mokhamiyasaymokameh

Holy Sh*t. After years of singing "mokhamiyasaymokameh" (a part of a song called "Insekta" By Queso). I think I may have deciphered its meaning, with a little help of Google of course.

I never bothered to google it before, or I think I did but it only ended up with search results of Videos on YouTube and Hashtags from twitter, when it first came. I first saw the music video on MYX and was later on uploaded on YouTube on the 3rd of June 2007.

So, what's the deal with this chant-like-mystery-verse? Here's my take on it and I have a strong feeling it's the right one.

At first I thought, from the sound of it "mokhamiyasaymokameh" may just be an ancient script from the Philippines called "Alibata" and to support this idea, I'm actually friends with Ocho Toleran (Guitarist of Queso, Franco and Armalite) on Facebook and at one time, a post from Ocho on the 12th of June 2013 Philippine Independence Day.

mo kung bakit likas tayong mahihilig sa sining at matatapang..

"Pintados" connects with "Alibata" so, to google! I say. I typed away keywords such as "Alibata mokhamiyasaymokameh", "Pintados mokhamiyasaymokameh", "Pintados Alibata mokhamiyasaymokameh" I was just getting deep in the depths of the Internet without a useful result.

As a second attempt, I thought maybe its one of those back masked songs, where if you listen to it Satan would poke you with his Dorito-filled-finger. But since I'm at the Office right now and I don't have the tool to back mask it, TO GOOGLE! I say, this time more determined. I typed"mokhamiyasaymokameh" backwards : "hemakomyasayimahkom" I got excited as it shows a video entitled "hemakomyasayimahkom", however its not what I'm looking for, so I tried typing It with syllables divided, finally I came across "Hamakom yenachem" though its not the exact backward version of  "mokhamiyasaymokameh" I started reading on the top results. The first one entitled "May "The Place" Comfort you" by Rabbi Yisrael Rutman. "Hamakom yenachem" is a Jewish Prayer recited to People who lost a love one.

"HaMakom yenachem et'chem b'toch shar avay'lay Tzion vee'Yerushalayim."

Translation: May the Omnipresent comfort you among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

After reading "Zion" from that prayer I thought, that word was once used on a song called "Enes" by Queso, of course. On the first verse it goes"Daughters of Zion beware, feel the presence of heaven coming down" so it seems that Queso is somehow fond of using references from different religions and beliefs on their songs but hey that's just me, I'm not really a big fan of Queso but I've heard most of their songs. So, for me it fits perfectly, like the song "Insekta" is a cry for something, that if I would to say it to my country like it's my friend who lost her son Freedom. rest your mind now and we'll take care of you. Its all connected.
